A steward leader is someone who not only focuses on achieving success for their organization but also takes into account its long-term sustainability and positive impact on society. Sounds similar to my definition of purposeful business development<\/a>. To excel in this role, it is crucial for steward leaders to practice purposeful and consistent business development. In this post, I explore why good steward leaders should embrace business development and three essential lessons they can learn from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lesson 1: Building sustainable relationships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the primary goals of a steward leader is to ensure the long-term success and impact of their organization. To achieve this, they must develop and nurture sustainable relationships with key stakeholders<\/a>. Of course, business development plays a vital role in fostering these connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business development is not just about closing deals; it’s about creating lasting partnerships. Steward leaders who engage in purposeful business development activities learn the art of building trust, understanding the needs of their partners, and aligning their organization’s goals with those of their stakeholders.
